Born in Stow, Ohio in 1978, Erin Rachel Hudak creates collages, paintings and installations that discuss ideas of freedom, power, perception and transformation. Hudak’s artwork is often inspired by her personal relationship with nature juxtaposed with various histories of mans’ relationship with ‘The Land’. One of the main themes in her work is the question: where are we going, and where have we been.

 

Hudak has been awarded with grants for her public sculpture projects: See Thru, Brooklyn NY 2014 , What We See, Brooklyn, NY, 2012; Love You Forever, Sun Valley Idaho, 2012; Love You Forever, 2011 and Everything Is Fine, 2010 in Brooklyn, NY.

 

She received her B.F.A from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and attended Allegheny College for art and literature. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her artwork has been featured in Vogue Girl Korea, DailyCandy.com, Art+Culture.com, VillageVoice, Dailyserving.com, NY Daily News, Sun Valley Magazine,  and The Brooklyn Eagle.  She works and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
