Durante siete años, vivimos en la costa de Maine, en Estados Unidos. Fue entonces que en nuestras exploraciones de su naturaleza descubrimos sus aves. Al principio, las aves estaban fuera de nuestra mirada, pero gradualmente, se convirtieron en la atracción principal de nuestras aventuras. Las aves nos fascinaron, ya sea por la llegada temprana de los chipe amarillos, los sonidos parecidos a rumores humanos de los patos"eider," o las guerras aéreas entre las gaviotas. Durante más de un año, las aves se convirtieron en nuestro tema fotográfico principal.

Living on Maine's coast for seven years, Eliza and Raul Jarquin's explorations led them to a newfound subject matter in their photography: birds. "It didn't begin that way. Birds were elusive at first, but gradually, they became the driving force behind our adventures. Whether it was the early arrival of yelow warblers, the human-like sounds of eiders, or the aerial seagull clam wars, birds fascinated us. For overa year, they became our primary photographic subject.
The images in this selection are a work in progress, not a final selection. Choosing various approaches informs us about creating a theme-oriented portfolio. Some of our interests lie in portraying small birds larger than life, capturing the scale of birds in their habitat, showcasing their courtship rituals, and highlighting the elegance of their movements."
