Yo era consciente de las fuerzas geológicas que formaron estas rocas. Esa salvaje y accidentada línea de costa de Maine fue tallada por glaciares, por algunas de las más grandes erupciones volcánicas en la historia de la Tierra, y por antiguos torrentes de lava provenientes de las profundidades del manto de nuestro planeta. Lo que yo no sabía es que quizás la Luna y estas rocas tienen más en común que la luz brillante que emiten. Con esa peculiar textura de sus superficies que capturan la luz de formas misteriosas, las rocas emergen del agua durante la marea baja. En esos momentos, cuando la última luz del atardecer permanece aún, he tratado de capturar lo que la Luna y las rocas tienen en común.

I was aware of the geological forces that formed these rocks. The rugged coastline of Maine was carved by glaciers, some of the largest volcanic eruptions in Earth's history, and ancient lava flows from deep in Earth's mantle. What I did not know is that perhaps these rocks and the moon have more in common than the luminous light that shines on
them. These highly textured surfaces emerge from the water at low tide and catch the light in mysterious ways. In these moments, as the day's last light lingers, l aim to capture what the moon and these rocks have in common.
